Outdoor Lighting and Installation

Outdoor Lighting

Outdoor Lighting
Often referred to as backyard, porch, garden or simply landscape lighting, outdoor lighting is one aspect of modern landscaping that can be used to add beauty and creativity to the entire environment. Many homeowners find that lighting areas like the drive, walkway, patio, retaining wall, and porch area create a safer and more delightful experience for the occupants and guests.

There is a wide variety of modern landscape lighting available for homes and businesses today. Everything including products using standard voltage, low voltage and even solar power is readily available.

Many of today’s outdoor lights used in landscaping utilize LED technology. LED lighting not only consumes far less power, but some of these products are also solar-powered. This makes installation much faster and easier. Solar-powered landscape lights absorb the energy from the sun during the day, which is converted to electric power and stored. The product typically has rechargeable batteries of some type within the unit. This stored power is what is utilized for powering the light at night. Typically outdoor lights have a dusk-to-dawn switch also integrated within each light or the entire system that allows it to turn on automatically at dusk and off again when the sun rises. This allows consumers to keep the area outside their home or business effectively and attractively illuminated throughout the night. This type of product provides consumers and business owners an effort-free option for keeping their yard and outdoor area effectively and attractively illuminated at night.

Today’s LED lights are far more durable and have a much longer life expectancy than standard incandescent bulbs. They also use less energy than standard traditional lights. They do not shine as far or brightly as traditional lighting, however, they are still more than sufficient for use as outside lighting.

Outdoor lighting is most commonly installed in the following areas:
Front Porch
Sidewalk
Driveway
Retaining Wall
Exterior Structure
Patio
Floriculture, Trees, Flowers and Shrubs
Pool and Deck Area

Properly illuminating the outdoor landscaping of any home or business will leave a lasting impression of beauty and prestige on both residents and guests alike.
